From chats to explosives: teenagers were preparing a terrorist act in Kyrgyzstan
In recent months, a worrying trend has been observed in the Kyrgyz Republic: teenagers are being drawn into extremist and terrorist ideologies through social media platforms and messengers. This was reported by the press service of the State National Security Committee (GKNB).

According to the agency's data, the process of radicalizing youth occurs gradually, through remote influence and online communication. Manipulations, false promises, and psychological pressure compel minors to adopt dangerous views that justify violence and illegal actions.
The GKNB noted that in the past six months, several cases of recruitment of teenagers by terrorist groups via internet resources have been recorded.
In some cases, minors were detained at the stage of preparing a terrorist act, studying instructions for creating homemade explosive devices, while in others, they were already at the stage of manufacturing them. Such actions, including preparations for them, are classified in Kyrgyzstan as serious crimes and are subject to criminal liability.

Law enforcement agencies emphasize that the process of involving teenagers in a radical environment often occurs unnoticed — under the guise of friendly communication. Radicalization can negatively affect the mental state of youth, causing them to lose touch with reality and succumb to the influence of criminal groups, which jeopardizes their future.

Parents are advised to pay attention to the following warning signs:

Experts emphasize that open communication in the family, attentive consideration of teenagers' interests, and reasonable control of their online activity are important factors in preventing radicalization.

If such signs are detected, citizens are urged to immediately contact the territorial offices of the GKNB.
