As reported by Turmush, on February 16, 2026, a special commission was created in the village of Ak-Suu to examine the carcass of the snow leopard. The commission included: B. Abdybekov, a hunting supervision specialist in the Ak-Suu district, ranger M. Sharshiev, veterinary inspector D. Asylbaev, and police captain N. Karmysakov, representing the Internal Affairs Department of the Ak-Suu district.
During the examination, the carcass of the snow leopard was found to be male and over 10 years old. A visual inspection did not reveal any gunshot wounds or other mechanical injuries.
To determine the exact causes of death, the animal's carcass was sent to the National Academy of Sciences in Bishkek for further research.
A video surfaced on the internet showing the snow leopard, which appears to be in the yard of one of the houses and looks weakened. The time of filming remains unknown.
