According to the information from the department, on December 31, 2025, a local resident named A.K., born in 1973, approached the Karakol City Police Department. In his statement, he reported that a certain individual, having deceived him, took his daughter's gold necklace worth 112,500 soms, claiming he was taking it "on loan," after which he fled the scene.
This statement was registered in the Unified Register of Crimes of the Karakol City Police Department, and an investigation into the fraud was subsequently initiated.
It is worth noting that similar incidents had previously occurred:
On November 21, 2021, in one of the gold-selling pavilions in Karakol, an unknown person, of Asian appearance, deceived a minor girl and took two gold bracelets, causing damage amounting to 40,000 soms.
On May 4, 2023, a local resident G.K., born in 1979, reported to the Karakol Police Department that he had been deceived by an unknown person who took a gold chain worth 21,000 soms from him.
Additionally, on January 12, 2026, a resident of the Ak-Suu district, T.R., born in 1995, reported that on December 31, 2025, a stranger approached him, gained his trust, and took meat worth 11,600 soms without paying.
Criminal cases have been initiated on all the aforementioned facts under Article 209 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic regarding fraud.
During operational investigative activities, officers of the criminal investigation department of the Karakol City Police Department identified the suspect. He turned out to be A.M., born in 1993, a resident of the city of Cholpon-Ata. The suspect was detained on February 12, 2026, in Bishkek.
During the preliminary interrogation, he confessed to his guilt in all four cases, and the Karakol court chose a preventive measure in the form of detention for a period of one month.
The investigation is ongoing.
