Connection with Eldar Zhakypbekov
Today, February 16, an employee of the State Committee for National Security (SCNS) named Sydyk, known by the nickname Pito, was detained. This information was provided by the publication Kaktus.media, citing sources in law enforcement agencies.
Sydyk worked in the 6th department of the SCNS and had close ties with Eldar Zhakypbekov, the former head of the Bishkek SCNS, who was arrested the day before, on February 15.
It is worth noting that the 6th department is responsible for investigating particularly important cases, including corruption crimes among high-ranking officials. After the dissolution of the Anti-Corruption Committee in 2021, its powers were significantly expanded. In 2024, an investigation was initiated against a number of employees of this department.
