A tragedy unfolded in Bishkek on February 16, when at 07:30 on Tynalieva Street, a driver of a KIA K5, born in 1990, named S.K., while making a left turn, struck a pedestrian. The 22-year-old girl, F.A., born in 2004, was crossing the road in an easterly direction and, unfortunately, succumbed to her injuries at the scene of the accident.
In connection with the incident, investigative authorities initiated a criminal case, classified under Article 312 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, concerning violations of traffic safety rules that led to serious consequences due to negligence. The driver was detained and placed in a temporary detention facility.
The vehicle has been placed in a specialized impound lot, and necessary examinations have been appointed for further investigation.
The Bishkek City Police Department reminds all road users of the importance of strict adherence to traffic rules, mutual respect on the road, and the necessity to be especially cautious near pedestrian crossings and when performing maneuvers.
