In Osh, suspects in extortion posing as bloggers have been detained

In Osh, law enforcement agencies detained two suspects in extortion who used tactics similar to bloggers, threatening the victim with the publication of compromising video materials. According to information provided by the city police department, the incident became known after a 22-year-old resident of Osh named A. B. reported it.

The young man stated that he received demands for money under the threat of posting a video recording, which served as the basis for initiating a criminal case under Article 208 "Extortion" of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. Police actions were carried out as part of the preventive operation "Bandit".

The detainees were 21-year-old S. M. from Osh and 23-year-old Ch. uulu B. from the Kara-Suu district. In accordance with Article 96 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, they were placed in a temporary detention facility.

Currently, law enforcement agencies are investigating the possible involvement of the detainees in other similar crimes.
