The Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Jalal-Abad region provided information about the current state of the roads following recent snowfall and avalanches.

According to preliminary data, on the Bishkek — Osh highway in the area of 255–260 km, known as the "Pelmennaia" and "Elik" sections, an avalanche occurred, leading to a temporary halt in traffic. A loader from DEP No. 23 was dispatched to the site to address the aftermath, and by 12:00, the road was opened for traffic in both directions. No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.

At the "Aral" post in the Toktogul district, restrictions on the movement of all types of vehicles have been temporarily introduced.

Additionally, on the Ala-Buka—Jany-Bazar—Kirovka highway, avalanches have been identified in several sections, and cleanup operations have been ongoing for the second day.

Since February 12, 2026, based on the order of the akim of the Chatkal district, a state of emergency of level II has been declared in the region.

Furthermore, on February 11 at 23:44 on the alternative North—South road, in the "Kapchigay" area between the Jumgal and Toguz-Torou districts (275–290 km), avalanches occurred in 11 sections, with a total volume of 10,300 cubic meters.

To eliminate the consequences, civil defense equipment from the Toguz-Torou district was sent to the incident site. The road is open for one-way traffic, and 17 vehicles with passengers were evacuated to a safe location. Passengers from five cars stuck due to the avalanche at 260 km were transported to the village of Kazarman.

In order to prevent further incidents, minimize material damage, and ensure the safety of citizens, a measure has been taken to temporarily close traffic on the "Kapchigay" section of the alternative North—South road until the avalanches are fully cleared.
