A meeting on combating cyber threats was held at the Prosecutor General's Office
Representatives from various organizations participated in this event, including the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the State National Security Committee, the State Penitentiary Service, the Financial Intelligence Unit, the National Bank, as well as the ministries of Digital Development, Education, Culture, Information and Youth Policy, Science and Higher Education. Industry regulators for communications and personal data protection were also present.
During the meeting, the most pressing schemes of internet fraud were discussed, including phone and messenger scams, account hacking, and offers of high profits with minimal risks. Special attention was paid to the issue of using the internet space for drug distribution among youth.
Additionally, measures to counter cyber threats in the context of digitalization were discussed, the need for coordination between government agencies and the private sector, as well as the importance of increasing the level of digital literacy among the population.
The General Prosecutor's Office urges citizens to be vigilant: do not share personal data, passwords, and bank details with third parties, avoid suspicious links, and inform their loved ones about potential risks on the internet. If fraudulent activities are detected, it is important to immediately contact law enforcement agencies.
