During the meeting, the widespread types of internet fraud were discussed, as well as cases of drug use and trafficking among adolescents. Schemes such as phone scams, hacking accounts in messengers and social networks, and fraudulent offers of high income with low risk were addressed. Additionally, significant attention was given to the issue of drug trafficking conducted via the internet.
During the discussions, emphasis was placed on the necessary measures for effective combat against cyber threats in the era of digitalization. The importance of cooperation between government agencies and the private sector was also raised.
This meeting demonstrated the determination of Kyrgyzstan's government structures at all levels in the fight against cybercrime and drug trafficking among youth. Participants emphasized the need to raise the level of digital literacy among the population so that people are aware of potential threats on the internet.
The General Prosecutor's Office urges citizens to be cautious when interacting with unfamiliar individuals online, not to disclose personal data, passwords, and banking information, to avoid suspicious links, and to inform their acquaintances about the risks of cybercrime. Upon detecting the first signs of fraud, it is strongly recommended to immediately contact law enforcement agencies to prevent further losses.
