In the Osh region, in the Nookat district, the activities of a group supporting the religious extremist organization "Hizb ut-Tahrir al-Islami" were halted. This was reported by the State National Security Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic.
According to the information provided by the agency, on February 10, searches were conducted at the residences of 11 activists and supporters of this organization in the Nookat district.
During the searches, 217 items that may serve as evidence were seized, including: 75 books, 14 mobile phones, 18 notebooks, 86 DVDs, 4 tablets, 1 laptop, 2 SIM cards, 14 Russian passports, 1 seal, 1 video cassette, and 1 "Bakay Bank" bank card.
The seized materials will be sent for judicial religious studies expertise. After its completion, necessary measures will be taken against the participants of "Hizb ut-Tahrir al-Islami" in accordance with current legislation.
