In the Nooken District of the Jalal-Abad Region, employees of the State Committee for National Security (GKNB) detained participants of the women's cell of the religious extremist group 'Hizb ut-Tahrir al-Islami'.
Service specialists noted that the group members actively used closed Telegram channels to disseminate banned literature and discuss plans for establishing a caliphate in Kyrgyzstan.
During searches at the addresses of the detainees, a significant amount of extremist materials was found, including literature from the organization 'Hizb ut-Tahrir al-Islami', as well as electronic devices such as computers, flash drives, and mobile phones.
On January 29, 2026, five members of the women's cell of this extremist organization were arrested, and further investigation is currently underway.
The GKNB of the Kyrgyz Republic reminds that participation of citizens in the activities of religious extremist organizations and the dissemination of extremist materials may lead to criminal liability.
