In the city of Kant, a pawnshop employee has been detained on suspicion of embezzling and misappropriating funds, as reported by the press service of the Main Internal Affairs Directorate of the Chui region.
According to available information, on January 11, 2026, a 24-year-old citizen, C.K., filed a complaint with the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Issyk-Ata district. She reported the actions of her colleague, S.M., who works as an expert appraiser-cashier at the pawnshop "U.P." and, being a person responsible for material assets, was issuing fictitious loans with inflated amounts.
As law enforcement authorities found out, from November 2024 to December 31, 2025, S.M. embezzled 4 million soms.
In connection with this fact, a criminal case has been initiated under Article 210 (Embezzlement and Misappropriation of Entrusted Property) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Citizen S.M., born in 1986, has been detained and placed in a temporary detention facility in accordance with Article 96 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The investigation is ongoing.
