A resident of Chui region was detained on suspicion of beating his wife

A case of domestic violence occurred in the Chui region, which led to the detention of a suspect, law enforcement agencies in the region report.

According to information, on January 7, 2026, a woman born in 1995 contacted the Internal Affairs Department of the Issyk-Ata district requesting action against her husband, citizen A.E., born in 1993. She reported that on the same day around 12:00 PM, in their home in the village of Ivanovka, during a conflict, her husband inflicted bodily harm on her.

This incident was officially recorded, and a forensic medical examination was subsequently appointed. According to its results, the woman was found to have the following injuries: a closed fracture of the fourth rib on the right with displacement, as well as multiple bruises and abrasions.

Based on the collected materials, a criminal case was initiated under Article 177 (domestic violence) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The suspect was detained in accordance with Article 96 of the Criminal Procedure Code and placed in a temporary detention facility.

The investigation is ongoing.

The Main Internal Affairs Department of the Chui region emphasizes that any acts of aggression and violence against women and children will be strictly suppressed, and those responsible will be held accountable in accordance with the current legislation of the country.
