In Illinois, law enforcement officials arrested Ы.М., a native of Kyrgyzstan born in 1979, who was on the international wanted list. This arrest was the result of joint actions by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, and the state's Drug Enforcement Administration.
According to the agency, Ы.М. had been wanted since 2023 at the initiative of Interpol, based on a "red notice." He is suspected of committing large-scale fraud, as stipulated by Article 209 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The investigation believes that the detained individual acted in collusion with A.Ч., who held a managerial position in one of the companies selling petroleum products. As a result of their actions, 1536.51 tons of fuel oil were stolen, valued at 51,780,387 soms.
Kyrgyz authorities are currently working on the extradition of the detainee to hold him criminally accountable.
Additionally, the Ministry of Internal Affairs noted that there are eight wanted citizens of Kyrgyzstan in HSI (ICE) detention centers awaiting deportation procedures. Of these, three have already been deported to their homeland.
