A citizen of the Kyrgyz Republic, Ы.М., born in 1979, was detained in Illinois, as reported by representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan.
The detention was the result of joint efforts by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, and the Drug Enforcement Administration as part of operational-search activities.
According to available information, Ы.М. had been on international wanted list since 2023 under Interpol, where a "red notice" was issued in connection with charges of large-scale fraud under Article 209 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
According to reports, Ы.М., along with an accomplice А.Ч., who held a managerial position in a company engaged in the sale of petroleum products, committed the theft of 1536.51 tons of heating fuel, causing damage amounting to 51,780,387 soms.
Currently, Kyrgyz authorities are taking the necessary steps for the extradition of the detained individual in order to bring him to justice.
Additionally, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that there are currently 8 citizens wanted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic for various crimes in HSI (ICE) detention centers, of which 3 have already been deported to Kyrgyzstan.
