A resident of the Batken region, who had not paid alimony since 2017, was sentenced to two years in prison due to an accumulated debt of 500,000 soms. This became known on February 3 from the Judicial Enforcement Service of the General Prosecutor's Office.

According to the agency's information, a probation measure had previously been applied to him; however, after an appeal from his ex-wife, the court decided to tighten the punishment.

In December 2025, the Internal Affairs Department of the Batken region reported that a 35-year-old man living in the Ak-Turpakskiy rural district of the Kadamjai region had not paid alimony for the support of his children, with a total amount of 474,856 soms. His actions were classified as evasion of responsibility, and he was hiding from justice.

In this regard, a criminal case was initiated under part 2 of Article 178 of the Criminal Code, which concerns parents evading compliance with court decisions regarding the payment of funds for child support when the debt exceeds 12 months. As a result of operational actions carried out by the police officers of the J. Sadyrov Kadamjai District Department of Internal Affairs, T. E. was detained in the city of Kyzyl-Kiya, where he had been hiding.
