A deputy prosecutor of the district has been detained in Talas on suspicion of extorting a bribe. This was reported by the press center of the State Committee for National Security (SCNS).
According to the investigation, the accused abused his official position by exerting pressure on convicted individuals who were on probation and fines, systematically demanding $2,000 from them.
If any of them refused, S.K.O. threatened to appeal court decisions to impose actual prison sentences on these citizens.
These actions significantly undermined the state policy against corruption and reduced public trust in government authorities, as noted by the SCNS.

On February 1, SCNS employees and representatives of the General Prosecutor's Office caught S.K.O. red-handed during the transfer of part of a bribe amounting to 140 thousand soms.
The suspect has been placed in the temporary detention facility of the SCNS. Currently, investigators continue to work on identifying other possible criminal episodes and establishing the involvement of other officials.
