In the city of Manas, illegal missionary activities organized by followers of the religious movement "Furkan" were halted. This movement, which opposes secular policies, actively promotes Sharia law. Information about the events was provided by the press service of the State Committee for National Security (GKNB).

As a result of operational actions, 20 people were detained, including 6 foreigners.

The investigation established that "Furkan" chose the Jalal-Abad region as a platform for spreading its ideology and forming cells in southern Kyrgyzstan.

The measures taken helped prevent the establishment of one of the potential cells of undesirable religious organizations in the country.

Organizers and participants of the illegal missionary activities were subjected to administrative fines, and measures are being taken to ensure compliance with legislation regarding freedom of religion and religious organizations.

The GKNB reminds citizens of the possible criminal liability for participating in illegal missionary activities.
