Driver of the "Honda Stepwgn," who hit 3 schoolchildren at high speed and crashed into two cars in the village of Furkat, has been placed in a temporary detention facility.
The information about the incident was provided by the press service of the Interior Ministry of Osh region.
According to available data, the incident occurred on January 26. The driver, born in 1998, K. uulu M., residing in the Aiyl district of Otuz-Adyr, was driving his right-hand drive "Honda Step" at high speed from north to south and ran over the children who were at the pedestrian crossing on the west side of the road.
After the collision, he crashed into a "Daewoo Tico," which was parked on the same side of the road and belonged to a resident of the village of Torgoy-Bulak, K. uulu U., born in 1991. As a result of the accident, the "Daewoo" was pinned against a "Mercedes-Benz Atego 1217," driven by G. uulu T., born in 1995, a resident of the village of Shibe in the Aiyl district of Jekendi in the Chon-Alai region.
As a result of this traffic accident, five minors were hospitalized. One of them is in a coma, in intensive care, and connected to a ventilator; his condition is assessed as extremely serious.
An examination has been ordered for the driver to determine whether he was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident. He is currently in the temporary detention facility.
Earlier, Turmush reported that on January 27, in connection with this traffic accident that occurred on January 26 in the village of Furkat, where five children were injured, including one in intensive care, school administration and medical staff made statements regarding the condition of the victims.
The principal of school No. 101 named after K. Mombekova, Nurila Sydykova, reported that three students from their institution were injured as a result of the incident.
“Two students are in the third grade, and their younger brother is in the second. They had just left school and were waiting for their mother. Apparently, the driver was intoxicated, as he was driving very fast and hit the children. Parents were immediately called, and the injured were taken to the hospital. The older sister was sent home as her condition was stable, while the younger brother was hospitalized in intensive care. The condition of the third student is also stable. The class teachers visited the children in the hospital,” she said.
The director of the Osh interregional children's clinical hospital, Jyrgalbek Tolorov, reported that the condition of the other injured children is satisfactory, and they have been discharged.
“Two children were brought to us in the emergency room by ambulance. They were examined by a traumatologist and underwent an X-ray. Their overall condition was satisfactory, and they received the necessary medical assistance. No serious injuries were found, and they were sent home,” he explained.
The other two girls, also injured in the accident, were referred to us from the Osh interregional unified clinical hospital. After being examined by a traumatologist and X-rayed, they were found to have soft tissue bruises in the upper limbs. The girls were placed in a short-term observation unit and were discharged today as their condition stabilized.
According to the Osh interregional unified clinical hospital, the condition of the second-grade boy remains extremely serious. He is in a coma and connected to a ventilator; he has also been diagnosed with a fracture of the left leg and chest injuries.
