Earlier, the press service of the State Committee for National Security reported the detention of suspects in extortion. According to the investigation, one of the residents of Bishkek accused her acquaintance of rape. As a result, she, together with the district officer of GOM-4 of the October District Interior Ministry, attempted to extort money for a favorable resolution of the case. On January 17, they were caught red-handed while receiving 350,000 soms.
The Interior Ministry confirmed that the detained police officer had been suspended from service in the internal affairs bodies since February 2025 and is currently at the disposal of the authorities.
