According to the investigation, a resident of Bishkek accused her acquaintance of rape. Together with a police officer, they organized a scheme to extort money for resolving the issue related to the criminal case.
This case was classified under Article 208, Part 2, Clause 2 ("Extortion by a group of individuals") of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
On January 17, as a result of a joint operation by GKNB officers and the Internal Investigations Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, police lieutenant A.E.B. and the complainant T.A. were detained while receiving the sum of 350,000 soms.
The detainees were placed in the GKNB detention facility by the decision of the Lenin District Court of Bishkek.
