The activities are being conducted under the instruction of Kamchybek Tashiev, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Head of the GKNB.
During the inspection, cases of violations of legislation regarding interest rates were identified, leading to the imposition of administrative sanctions on responsible individuals. As a result, more than 30 pawnshops were temporarily closed, and additional inspections were scheduled, the results of which will be subject to legal analysis.
Currently, the GKNB of the Kyrgyz Republic is conducting operational search activities to identify individuals engaged in usury, who provide loans on deliberately unfavorable terms and seize collateral property, thereby extracting significant profits,” the agency's message added.
