These activities were initiated by the Chairman of the GKNB, Kamchybek Tashiev. Specialists from the Southern Territorial Administration of the Financial Supervision Service and the State Tax Service are participating in the inspections.
During the conducted raids, cases of systematic inflation of interest rates were discovered, exceeding the norms established by law. Administrative measures were applied for the identified violations.
More than 30 pawnshops were sealed, and in-depth checks of their activities are currently underway. The results of these inspections will form the basis for further legal actions.
GKNB specialists are also conducting operational search actions to identify individuals engaged in usury and providing loans under deliberately unachievable conditions. According to the special services, such individuals illegally use pledged property for their own benefit, generating significant income.

It is worth noting that earlier, Chairman Kamchybek Tashiev raised the issue of the necessity to inspect all pawnshops in the country.
Recently, a major usurer, the owner of a chain of pawnshops, was detained in Bishkek. According to the GKNB, he acted with the aim of obtaining illegal profits by providing loans to citizens in difficult financial situations under oppressive conditions with high interest rates, which put the victims in a dependent position and deprived them of the ability to fulfill their obligations.
