The GKNB revealed facts of abuse by a lawyer
Lawyer Rustam Isaev has been detained in connection with a case involving the activities of pawnshops, according to a statement from the press service of the State Committee for National Security (GKNB).
Previously, in this investigation, Manas Sultanov, who is the owner of a network of pawnshops and is accused of fraudulent activities and extortion, was detained.
According to the GKNB, Sultanov, acting in his own selfish interests, engaged in illegal activities, profiting by providing loans to citizens in difficult financial situations at terms with deliberately high interest rates. This put borrowers in a dependent position and deprived them of the ability to fulfill their obligations, ultimately allowing Sultanov to illegally seize movable and immovable property.
Additionally, Sultanov used pressure, intimidation, and psychological influence on his victims to prevent them from seeking protection of their rights.
To implement his scheme, he involved Rustam Isaev, who acted as his lawyer and partner.
The GKNB reported that Isaev actively participated in the blackmail and extortion of property from the leaders of construction companies LLC "Expert Stroy" and LLC "Arz Development." Possessing legal knowledge, he facilitated the unjust imposition of restrictions on property rights and threatened representatives of these companies and shareholders to coerce them into transferring property.
As a result of the illegal actions, 89 shareholders of the residential complex "Silk Road" were harmed, as well as citizens who used the services of the pawnshops.
Rustam Isaev has been placed in the temporary detention facility of the GKNB, and the investigation is ongoing.
