In India, a video demonstrating the so-called "cow vigilantism" is actively spreading — a form of mob justice that has arisen in connection with the protection of cows, which hold sacred status in Hinduism.

These actions are carried out by activists with radical views who patrol the roads, trying to stop trucks suspected of transporting cows, including for the purpose of slaughter. Such attempts often lead to vehicles being overturned.

According to Indian media reports, such actions are often accompanied by violence.
Data indicates that in January 2026, at least 85 people died as a result of attacks related to "cow vigilantism."
Most often, the victims are truck drivers and members of religious minorities.

Human rights activists have repeatedly emphasized that such actions go beyond the law and constitute lynching, urging authorities to take stricter measures to prevent mob justice.
