In Karakol, the investigation into the sexual assault allegation by a 22-year-old woman against an acquaintance has been resumed.
According to law enforcement agencies, on January 30, 2025, a citizen identified as D.A., born in 2003, approached the Karakol City Department of Internal Affairs. She stated that she had become a victim of sexual violence by someone she knew.
“The statement was entered into the electronic register of the Karakol Department of Internal Affairs. After that, preliminary investigative activities began, during which a forensic medical examination was appointed. The suspect was identified as T.B., born in 1995, from the Ak-Suu district,” the police report states.
Later, the victim repeatedly approached the internal affairs authorities and withdrew her initial statement. The forensic medical examination did not reveal any signs confirming the fact of rape.
The initial decision of the prosecutor's office was canceled, and the case materials were returned for additional verification. However, due to mutual consent of the parties, a criminal case was not initiated.
Currently, against the backdrop of a video appeal that has gained popularity online, the case materials have been re-registered in the electronic journal of the Karakol Department of Internal Affairs, and a new preliminary investigation is underway.
“Additional information will be provided based on the results of the investigation,” law enforcement agencies report.
