According to him, such measures were taken because the fuel and lubricants spilled into the Naryn River, causing damage. Specialists worked at the accident site.
“On January 14, at kilometer 428 of the Bishkek—Osh highway, driver K. A., operating his DAF truck, was involved in a traffic accident. He was transporting 36,410 liters of fuel oil from the Jalal-Abad CPC plant [CJSC Kyrgyz Petroleum Company in Manas] to a thermal power enterprise in the city of Kara-Balta. As a result of the accident, the fuel oil spilled onto the roadside and into the Naryn River. Water samples were taken, and it was established that the soil cover was damaged over a total area of 49 m².
The total amount of damage caused was 9,525.6 soms. Additionally, in accordance with Article 237 (“Damage to agricultural land and other lands”) of the Code of Offenses, a fine of 20,000 soms was imposed, and under Article 236 (“Violation of requirements for the protection of water from pollution and contamination”) of the Code of Offenses, a fine of 10,000 soms was also imposed,” Zalimbekov said.
CJSC Kyrgyz Petroleum Company produces petroleum products in Kyrgyzstan, with 100% of the company's shares owned by OJSC Kyrgyzneftegaz. The company is engaged in the production of petroleum products from oil and other types of raw materials and provides processing services. Currently, the enterprise produces three types of products: gasoline, diesel fuel, and fuel oil.
Experts reported that the cause of the accident on the Bishkek—Osh highway was a failure of the steering rack on the heavy-duty truck, resulting in the driver losing control. No one was injured in the incident.
Earlier, Turmush, citing eyewitnesses, reported on this traffic accident. It was noted that traffic on this section of the road was restricted for about an hour.
