Promised to resolve the criminal case for $10,000. Suspects detained

According to the information from the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, on January 13, suspects involved in fraudulent activities were arrested.

The incident occurred in early 2026 when a resident of Bishkek reported to the Internal Investigations Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The man stated that two individuals posing as law enforcement officers demanded $10,000 from him to resolve issues related to a criminal case in his favor. After receiving the money, the criminals disappeared.

This case was registered under Article 209 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, concerning fraud.

During the investigation, two suspects were detained: S.A., born in 1998, and S.M., born in 1976. It was established that they are not employees of law enforcement agencies. A third figure in this case was also identified — A.A., born in 1982, who had a previous conviction. He is currently in custody on another fraud case being handled by the State Committee for National Security.
