They Posed as Employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Suspects in Fraud Found in Bishkek

Law enforcement officers in Bishkek have detained a group of fraudsters who posed as employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. This became known thanks to a statement from the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The story began when, in early 2026, a citizen named K.A. approached the Internal Investigations Service, reporting that he had fallen victim to a scam. He stated that the fraudsters, posing as police officers, promised to help him in "solving a criminal case" for a sum of 10 thousand dollars.
However, after receiving the money, the fraudsters failed to fulfill their promises and refused to return the funds.
Based on this fact, investigators initiated a criminal case under Article 209 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, which pertains to fraud.
During operational activities, two suspects were detained: 25-year-old S.A. and 47-year-old S.M. It later became clear that a third accomplice is A.A., born in 1982, who already had a criminal record and is currently in the detention center of the State Committee for National Security on another fraud case.
The investigation is ongoing, and the Ministry of Internal Affairs is looking for connections between the detainees and other similar crimes.
