The Ministry of Internal Affairs has detained former deputy Akkula Berdiev

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan has initiated an investigation into a case of large-scale fraud. During these activities, former deputy Akkula Berdiev was detained.

According to preliminary data from the investigation, in 2022, Berdiev, using deception, embezzled funds which he then used for his own interests.

It is also known that earlier, complaints had been received by law enforcement agencies from Berdiev's wife regarding instances of domestic violence. These complaints have been registered and are under review in accordance with the law.

Investigative actions are ongoing.
