In the Uzgen District, police officers beat citizens

The detention of police officers was carried out by GKNB employees


In the Uzgen district, an incident occurred during which police officers beat two citizens. This became known from the press center of the GKNB.

On January 3, employees of the Uzgen Department of Internal Affairs made an illegal detention and brought two individuals to the Kurshab police station. According to the investigation's version, the detainees were subjected to beating. As a result, one of them sustained a serious traumatic brain injury, including a concussion and brain swelling.

In connection with this fact, the Prosecutor's Office of the Osh region initiated a criminal case under Article 130 part 3 item 2 ("Causing serious harm to health") and Article 338 part 2 item 4 ("Abuse of power") of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Three police officers, namely S.H., I.u.K., and A.A., have been placed in custody in the GKNB detention center.

An investigation is currently underway.

The GKNB urges citizens to be active and report cases of abuse of power.
