In Uzgen District, police officers exceeded their authority: the detainee was seriously injured, a criminal case has been initiated.

In the Uzgen district, a criminal investigation has been initiated against police officers, as reported by the press service of the General Prosecutor's Office.

According to the information, on January 3, 2026, police officers from the Kurshab rural department, taking advantage of their official position, unlawfully detained two citizens and used physical force against them without proper documentation. As a result, one of the detainees, A.B., sustained serious health injuries.

In connection with the incident, on January 5, 2025, the Prosecutor's Office of the Osh region initiated a criminal case under Articles 130, Part 3, Clause 2 and 338, Part 2, Clause 4 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. The case has been transferred for investigation to the investigative department of the Main Directorate of the State National Security Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic in Osh and the Osh region.

At the moment, three police officers, namely "S.H.", "A.A.", and "I.K.", have been detained and, by court decision, are in custody for a period of two months. Investigative activities are underway.

The Prosecutor's Office of the Osh region is overseeing this criminal case and has issued instructions for conducting the necessary expert examinations. After the investigation is completed, legal measures will be taken in accordance with the Criminal Procedure Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
