The church in Teploklyuchenka was robbed on Christmas. Suspects detained
Residents of the village of Teploklyuchenka, located in the Ak-Suu district of the Issyk-Kul region, contacted the editorial office of VB.KG with alarming news about a crime that occurred before Christmas. A robbery took place in one of the local churches: the criminals not only set fire to the Christmas tree but also stole church items and goods from the shop.

The editorial office contacted law enforcement agencies for information. According to the press service of the Interior Ministry of the Issyk-Kul region, on January 6, 2026, a report of a theft from a church in the village of Ak-Suu was received by the Ak-Suu district police. This fact was registered in the Unified Register of Crimes, and a preliminary investigation was initiated.

The investigative and operational group promptly arrived at the scene. It was found that the church's entrance door had been broken, and the Christmas tree had burned due to the use of flammable liquid. Two donation boxes had also been broken into, from which money was stolen.

Additionally, the criminals stole 10 gift bags from the church shop, two silver chains, 5–6 rings, and 12–15 silver crosses. Furthermore, they ripped a Wi-Fi router from the premises.

Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the same individuals had also broken into two donation boxes at the local mosque, stealing money. Moreover, as a result of the criminals' actions, two cars were damaged, their windows broken, and small items stolen from them. All incidents were registered in the Unified Register of Crimes of the Ak-Suu district police.

In connection with these events, a criminal case was initiated under paragraph 4 of part 3 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Thanks to the conducted operational-search activities and the use of video surveillance established as part of the "Safe and Digital Country" project, the suspects with the stolen items were detained.

The detainees turned out to be residents of the Ak-Suu district:

N. A., born in 2010;

V. A., born in 2003, previously convicted.

In accordance with Articles 96–97 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, the suspects have been placed in a temporary detention facility. An investigation is underway.

Law enforcement agencies noted that information about the robbery continues to spread on social media; however, it is not specified that the suspects have already been detained. In this regard, law enforcement officials urged leaders of diasporas and local communities to disseminate accurate and verified information about the detention of the suspects.
