At Issyk-Kul, a church and a mosque were robbed, a Christmas tree was set on fire, and a Wi-Fi router was stolen — a young man and a teenager have been detained.

In the Ak-Suu district of the Issyk-Kul region, an investigation has been initiated into the theft at a local church and mosque [formerly Teploklyuchenka].

On January 6, 2026, information about an attempted theft at the church in the village of Ak-Suu was received by the Ak-Suu District Department of Internal Affairs.

This report was recorded in the crime log, after which an operational group began an investigation.

At the scene, investigators found that the lock on the church's front door had been broken, and the New Year tree, decorated for the holiday, had been set on fire using a special liquid for lamps. Additionally, two donation boxes had been opened, from which money was stolen.

From the church shop, 10 gift bags, 2 silver chains, 5–6 rings, and 12–15 silver crosses were missing. Furthermore, the suspects ripped out a Wi-Fi router.

In addition, at the mosque in the village of Ak-Suu, two donation boxes were broken into, and money was also stolen from them. The suspects also broke the windows of two cars and stole small items from their interiors.

Materials regarding the incident were registered in the Crime Registration Book of the Ak-Suu District Department of Internal Affairs, and a criminal case was opened under paragraph 4 of part 3 of article 205 of the Criminal Code (“Theft with breaking and entering into a premises or vehicle”).
