Decrease in textile production restrains industrial growth in Kyrgyzstan by 8.5% YoY
In January 2026, the growth rate of the industrial sector increased to 12.7% year-on-year. This figure was significantly influenced by sectors such as the extraction of metallic ores, food production, and the manufacturing of non-metallic products.
However, the decline in textile production, which amounted to 8.5% year-on-year, negatively impacts overall growth.
“We expect that after businesses adapt to the new requirements for supplies to the EAEU countries and the implementation of the preferential lending program, the textile sector will be able to restore its growth rates,” comment EDB analysts.
