The State Committee for National Security (SCNS) of Kyrgyzstan reported the detention of a citizen of the Kyrgyz Republic with the initials "T.M.Sh.", who is a member of the international terrorist organization "Islamic State".
According to available information, this individual, residing in the Aravan district of the Osh region, actively spread terrorist ideology among believers, calling for the overthrow of the current constitutional order and the establishment of a theocratic state in the form of a "Caliphate". He also recruited citizens to participate in combat operations in the Middle East and developed plans to carry out terrorist acts on the territory of Kyrgyzstan.
After the implementation of counter-terrorism measures, the suspect was arrested in Istanbul and brought to Kyrgyzstan on March 16, 2026, where he is currently undergoing investigation.
