A suspect extradited to Kyrgyzstan, detained in Istanbul
A citizen of Kyrgyzstan, linked to the international terrorist organization Islamic State, was arrested in Turkey. This was reported by the State Committee for National Security (SCNS).
According to the intelligence agency, the detainee, known as "T.M.Sh.", lived in the Aravan district of the Osh region and actively promoted terrorist ideas among the local population.
The investigation revealed that he called for the overthrow of the constitutional order and the establishment of a theocratic state in the form of a "caliphate," as well as recruiting people to participate in military operations in the Middle East within terrorist groups.
Additionally, the SCNS reports that the suspect planned terrorist acts on the territory of Kyrgyzstan.
As part of counter-terrorism operations, the man was detained in Istanbul. On March 16, 2026, SCNS officers brought him back to Kyrgyzstan for further investigation.
