The State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan (GKNB) has detained a man suspected of connections with the international terrorist organization "Islamic State." This was reported by the press service of the agency.

The detainee, known as "T.M.Sh.," lived in the Aravan district of the Osh region and actively spread terrorist ideology among local believers. He also called for the overthrow of the existing constitutional order and the establishment of a theocratic state in the form of a "caliphate."

According to intelligence sources, he recruited citizens to participate in combat operations on the side of illegal armed groups in the Middle East and planned to carry out terrorist acts on the territory of Kyrgyzstan.
