Films from Kyrgyzstan and Armenia Became the Best at the "Umut" Film Forum
From March 4 to 7, the XIII International Film Forum of Young Filmmakers from CIS countries titled "Umут" was held in Bishkek, as reported by the Ministry of Culture, Information, and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic.
During the event, 38 films were presented, along with master classes and project pitching sessions.
At the closing of the forum, the award for "Best Film" in the international category was given to the film "Seagulls over Golgotha" by Armenian director Lia Karapetyan. The award for "Best Director" was awarded to Nurlan Hasanli from Azerbaijan for his work "Early Feelings".
In the national competition, the main prize was won by the film "Balyk" ("Fish") by Tolomush Janibekov, and Daniyar Abirov was recognized as "Best Director" for the film "Obonchu".
Additionally, following the pitching results, the project "You and Me" received support from the film studio "Kyrgyzfilm", while the projects "Accomplice", "Ultrasound", and "Gesture" also received financial assistance.
