“For us, this is an important step forward. The 'Umut' forum has become a stable professional platform and a significant event in the film industry of Central Asia. This year, we feel development and internal growth. Gradually, the forum is becoming not only a place for film screenings but also a full-fledged environment for professionals seeking new knowledge,” noted Mamytova.
According to Elvira Mamytova, at this international platform, viewers will be able to see works by young directors not only from Kyrgyzstan but also from other countries.
“We highlight two main directions. The first is the main program 'Umut', which includes competitive and special screenings, premieres, and discussions of films. The second direction is Umut Industry, the educational and business platform of the forum. It is interesting because it brings together viewers with professionals, the younger generation with more experienced filmmakers. Here, one can not only enjoy cinema but also immerse themselves in a lively professional environment, gaining new knowledge and contacts,” she emphasized.
The main program of the forum includes both international and national competitions, special screenings, and discussions with the authors of the films. It will feature works from Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Russia, Armenia, and other countries.

“We are pleased to announce that last year the documentary program UmutDoc was launched, and this year it has transformed into an independent documentary film festival 'UmutDoc'. The pitching of short fiction projects holds a special place: authors present their ideas to industry specialists and receive valuable recommendations. The entire Umut Industry program is focused on pitching so that participants can gain practical experience,” added Mamytova.
She also spoke about the jury members representing the film industry, studios, and professional platforms. These experts not only evaluate projects but are also ready to provide practical support. It is worth noting that Umut Industry events are open to a wide audience: any interested authors can attend lectures, master classes, and meetings.
