The President discussed new aircraft and the development of civil aviation with Airbus Europe.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the prospects of updating the fleet with new aircraft and the possibilities for strengthening cooperation in the field of civil aviation.
President Japarov emphasized that this cooperation is a significant step towards the development of civil aviation in the country, which, in turn, will enhance the reliability of transportation, flight safety, and expand air communication.
He also noted that the aviation industry in the country is actively developing, with the modernization of airport infrastructure and an increase in the number of regional routes, which meet international standards.
“Previously, we had only four airports operating, and today all 11 are functioning. The construction of the Jalal-Abad International Airport is ongoing,” the president added.
Furthermore, Japarov reported that Kyrgyzstan is in the final stages of exiting the European Union's "black list" for aviation safety, and another audit is scheduled for this month. He invited the company representatives to assist in this process.
Johan Pelissier, for his part, noted the positive changes in Kyrgyzstan's aviation sector and confirmed readiness for long-term cooperation, including issues related to transportation and logistics.
“We are pleased to learn that Kyrgyzstan is close to completing the audit by the European Union and are ready to provide the necessary support,” he said.
Maurice Prendergast also added that the new aircraft fully comply with international standards, and the company's specialists are ready to assist their Kyrgyz colleagues in mastering the operational systems and technical aspects of the new aircraft.
At the end of the meeting, the parties confirmed their readiness for further mutually beneficial cooperation.
