The State Committee for National Security (SCNS) has responded to the recent statements made by the member of the Jogorku Kenesh, Ulanbek Zhaanbaev, regarding the difficulties citizens face when bringing money into Kyrgyzstan.
Control over the movement of funds across the state border is carried out strictly within the framework of the current legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic and the country's international obligations. These measures are aimed at ensuring financial security and combating illegal financial operations, the special service stated in a message.
Member of the Jogorku Kenesh, Ulanbek Zhaanbaev, reported problems with bringing cash from Russia into Kyrgyzstan. According to him, entrepreneurs are facing delays in receiving money at the airports of Bishkek and Osh.
Speaking on March 4 at a parliamentary session, the deputy stated that employees of the relevant department of the SCNS are detaining funds that entrepreneurs are trying to bring into the country. Zhaanbaev noted that at least two complaints have already been received regarding this issue. He called for ensuring the free import of funds and not creating obstacles for business.
