The Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers was the initiator of this draft law.
The law introduces new terms such as "geoinformation systems" and "geoinformation technologies," as well as clarifies the functions of state and local government bodies.
Furthermore, the draft law mandates the use of spatial data and materials from the state fund of spatial data, as well as information from the unified electronic cartographic base in carrying out cartographic activities for the needs of government bodies and local self-government in the process of processing spatial data.
