- During the plenary session of the Jogorku Kenesh, which took place on March 4, 2026, Deputy Gulnara Baatyrova discussed pressing issues related to the epizootic situation in the country and measures aimed at preventing the spread of dangerous animal diseases from abroad.

She expressed concern about the increase in cases of infectious diseases among agricultural animals in neighboring countries.

In this regard, the deputy raised questions about veterinary measures being implemented in Kyrgyzstan to protect the local livestock, including issues of prevention, monitoring, and quarantine actions.

Additionally, she inquired about the quality control of imported meat.

Baatyrova emphasized the importance of strict compliance with sanitary standards when importing animal products and the necessity of systematically conducting laboratory tests to ensure compliance with veterinary and sanitary requirements.

The deputy requested the Ministry of Agriculture and the State Inspectorate for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Safety under the Cabinet of Ministers to provide comprehensive information on the measures being taken and plans for improving protection against transboundary epizootics.
