Work is underway on the dismantling of hydro unit No. 2 and the supply of equipment at the Uch-Kurgan Hydroelectric Power Station
The modernization work on the Uch-Kurgan Hydroelectric Power Station is ongoing in accordance with Project Package-2. This project is considered an important step in the development of the energy sector of Kyrgyzstan, as reported by the Ministry of Energy. Currently, 44 people, including factory specialists, are actively working on the construction site.
Among the main tasks currently being performed:
• The dismantling of hydro unit No. 2 is ongoing, which is the first step in updating the equipment. This operation involves 19 specialists.
• The transportation of dismantled parts to the warehouse for further inspection and disposal is being carried out.
• Simultaneously, design and engineering work is underway: creating project documentation, preparing production schedules, translating technical information, and formalizing executive documentation.
Equipment Supply
Components of new equipment for hydro unit No. 2 have already arrived at the warehouse of the Tash-Kumyr Cascade Hydroelectric Power Station.
At the moment:
• The delivery of all components for the stator, rotor, control and protection systems, water cooling, and grounding of the generator has been completed;
• Debris-catching grids for the water intake have been delivered;
• Components of the generator and the working wheel have been partially received.
• The overall level of equipment supply for hydro unit No. 2 is 47.3%.
The main goal of the modernization of the Uch-Kurgan Hydroelectric Power Station is to increase the reliability and efficiency of electricity generation, as well as to extend the service life of the equipment. This project will not only ensure energy security but also contribute to the economic development of Kyrgyzstan.
