An important event took place today, February 18, when the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Japarov, opened a new gondola lift in the Ala-Archa National Park.
First, the president got acquainted with the operation of the cable car.
Addressing those present, he stated that in recent years, the infrastructure in Ala-Archa has been completely updated, providing comfortable conditions for tourists.
Sadyr Japarov noted that this is the first cable car in the country, which will be an important step in the development of the park's infrastructure.
This cable car has a length of 1 kilometer and can transport nearly a thousand people per hour to the mountain peak, opening new opportunities for park visitors.
The president also noted that the project was implemented by the renowned Austrian company Doppelmayr, which is currently building cable cars for the Ala-Tuu Resort ski resort in the Issyk-Kul region. This underscores the active development of mountain tourism in Kyrgyzstan.
“We plan to continue the development of the national park, and the second phase of the cable car construction will run from the checkpoint for 12 kilometers, covering the most beautiful and hard-to-reach areas,” he added.
In addition, work is underway in Ala-Archa to build modern cottages.
The president also announced the construction of a new toboggan run and plans to create a five-star hotel with a swimming pool.
He noted that the park's revenues have significantly increased: from 29 million soms in 2020 to more than 262 million soms in 2025, indicating a growth of almost nine times.
Sadyr Japarov emphasized that all government institutions are being transitioned to a digital format, ensuring transparency and simplifying the management of state property.
“Our goal is to maximize the tourist potential of the country and present Kyrgyzstan as a country of mountain tourism!” the president declared.
He added that work on creating modern tourist infrastructure will continue in Ala-Archa, on Issyk-Kul, and in other regions of Kyrgyzstan.
The president expressed gratitude to everyone who participated in the implementation of this project.
He also noted that the state is open to investors and creates all conditions for business development, including the introduction of a moratorium on unjustified inspections.
Addressing the law enforcement agencies, he urged them not to exert pressure on entrepreneurs who contribute to the country's development. “If I see even a hint of pressure, I ask you not to take offense,” he added.
At the same time, the president expressed hope that entrepreneurs, feeling the trust of the state, will work honestly and pay taxes on time.
Concluding his speech, the president familiarized himself with the hotel infrastructure built in Ala-Archa.
