As Takirov explained, the resumption of trade relations became possible thanks to mutual state visits by the leaders of the two countries.
During intergovernmental meetings, the Kyrgyz side was assigned a number of tasks, among which the key point was the creation of a "roadmap" for trade and the identification of priority areas for further development.
Tajikistan also proposed that Kyrgyz companies establish joint production on its territory. The main focus is on the processing of local cotton and the production of finished goods, which, according to the Tajik side, will benefit both states.
This year, the participation of Kyrgyz businessmen in the international exhibition Sukh 2026, taking place in Khujand, as well as in the textile and garment exhibition in Dushanbe, is planned. Negotiations are underway to establish trade houses in these cities to improve interaction with buyers and showcase products on-site.
