- Former Minister of Transport Jamshitbek Kalilov stated on the radio station that the country's road infrastructure does not meet modern requirements for axle load and standards adopted in the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union.
According to him, at the time of Kyrgyzstan's accession to the EEU, all participants agreed to align their national standards with the common norms of the union, including the axle load of vehicles.
Kalilov also reminded that 15 years ago there were no expectations that heavy transport weighing 50–60 tons would move along Kyrgyz roads. Currently, all new roads are designed with an axle load calculation of 11.5 tons, while in neighboring Kazakhstan, Belarus, and Russia, this figure is already 13 tons.

“The parameters of 11.5 tons are not the final level. It is necessary to immediately start transitioning to 13 tons. Otherwise, this will create serious problems in the future,” he added.

Moreover, the former minister noted that even new and reconstructed roads in Kyrgyzstan continue to be designed with an axle load of 11.5 tons, as such requirements were specified in previously signed agreements.
