Patients suffering from oncological diseases are entitled to free hospitalization for planned repeat surgery within a year after the first operation, as reported by the Mandatory Health Insurance Fund (MHIF). The fund clarified that in such cases, co-payments for inpatient treatment are not charged, as is the case with the initial visit.
It is important to note that during inpatient treatment, additional payments for the following services are prohibited:
- consultations with specialists;
- surgical interventions;
- anesthesia;
- care for postoperative wounds;
- laboratory and diagnostic studies conducted in this medical institution.
Furthermore, medical institutions are required to provide patients with essential medications listed in the list of vital and essential drugs. If the necessary medications are not available, the patient has the right to purchase them independently, which can be verified against a list that is posted daily in a visible location in the department. These rules are established by the State Guarantees Program, as informed by representatives of the MHIF.
