- At the meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh held on January 14, 2026, deputy Ulan Bakasov proposed to increase the electricity consumption limit for the population of the Naryn region.

He noted that the limit had previously been raised from 3 kW to 5 kW, but now it is necessary to raise it to 7 kW. The deputy justified his request by the harsh climatic conditions of the region and the need for heating homes.

According to Bakasov, the total electricity consumption in Kyrgyzstan is 66.3 million kWh per day, of which the Naryn region uses only 2.8 million kWh.

In addition, he raised the issue of the need for gasification of the Naryn region.

For reference:

At the beginning of January 2026, the Naryn PES had already increased the power limit of the electricity networks from 3 to 5 kW for 61,200 subscribers. This decision was made after numerous appeals from local residents in the face of severe cold and allowed for an increase in the overall limit of the region from 189 million 648 kWh to 264 million 312 kWh during peak hours.
